Hello world! We are are group of children and teenagers who have Type 1 Diabetes. We did not get it because we are overweight or lazy! We got it from having an autoimmune disease. For some unknown reason, the cells in our bodies attacked the cells in our pancreas that make insulin inside of our pancreas. It is not reversible. Ever. Until a cure is found!

 

So until then, we have to give ourselves daily injections of insulin before each meal and before we go to sleep. We are not alone. There are millions of children and adults in this world who have to inject or pump insulin into their body, every day. We never really complain about it, because we all do what we have to do, in order to just live and be healthy, so why complain? 

 

What WE WOULD like to do, is to be part of the cure! And we would like to ask the world to be part of the cure too! So we have started a project called "The Power Of One." The power of one world versus the power of one disease. Our project is very easy. Imagine...One whole world giving One whole dollar to a foundation that is focused on a cure for us and millions of others! Wouldn't it be amazing to see the Power of One and how everyone could all be a part of the cure...One day!
